Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that the Project Planning duties in the employees’ area of influence are performed to the P2 Project Planning Department’s standards for accuracy and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide Excellent Service & Support to Customers (Internal & External)
    • Ensure that all projects submitted to your group are completed accurately.
    • Ensure that all projects submitted to your group are completed efficiently within a reasonable time frame.
    • Communicate delays and requests for more information to sales on a regular basis.
    • Meet with the sales and planning team for a pre-work discussion about specific complex projects.
  • Project Planning
    • Distribute work to the Project Planning team in your area of responsibility
    • Assist in the completion of Project Planning duties as required with a focus on large projects.
    • Provide help, relief, and training to employees who need it
  • Oversee Process Compliance
    • Evaluate the work done by direct reports to ensure compliance with defined processes & procedures.
    • Keep up to date on contracts, departmental processes, and procedures, communicate changes, and enforce compliance.
  • Quality Control
    • Evaluate the accuracy of projects within the department and get them corrected before they are presented.
    • Provide additional training, as necessary.
  • Hiring / Training
    • Assist in the search process for new employees including screening & interviewing new hires to the department.
    • Oversee training of new team members.
    • Create, maintain, and deploy an onboarding system for the department.
  • Reporting / Feedback
    • Provide management reports and feedback on all aspects of the department.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • People management skills are a plus, but some management training will be provided
  • Experience working with CET (Configura Extension Technology) Designer software
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of employment as a Patterson Pope Project Planner/Designer (or equivalent combination of Patterson Pope Project Planner experience and previous experience elsewhere)
  • Prior experience in a sales-driven organization
  • Availability Mon-Fri during normal working hours with the ability to also work after hours and weekends as required.
  • Strong work ethic including the ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Ability to resolve conflict
  • Above average multitasking ability
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including a willingness to communicate directly with customers and staff
  • Advanced problem-solving skills required
  • Ideal candidate will have a strong mathematics background, including geometry, linear measurement, & monetary calculations (markup, profit margin, cost, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Salesforce
  • Strong skills using MS Office Suite (particularly Excel), CRM software, Configura, AutoCAD, and other drafting and design-related software.
  • If not located in Charlotte, NC travel to Charlotte at regular intervals will be expected and required.
  • Ability to work remotely as required
